Great to discuss all things #CLEARforBusiness at Expowest Cornwall at the Royal Cornwall Showground on 8th and 9th March.

Lots of interest from a range of businesses – as one Tourist Attraction in the County put it “Oh we could so have done with your support last year when we had an incident – please do come and talk to us”

CLEAR for Business helps organisations to increase employee wellbeing, attendance and engagement, supporting increased productivity and staff retention.

CLEAR for Business is a Workforce Offer with an important difference. By investing in your workforce through CLEAR you will also be helping many other people in the county that we are proud to call home. Every penny of surplus will be reinvested into our charitable work providing therapy and counselling for children and adults across Cornwall who have been harmed by abuse, violent crime and other traumatic events

We had joy, we had fun, we saw snowdrops in the sun!

Snowdrop weekend at Pencarrow was the perfect setting to welcome in the Spring. CLEAR was lucky to be there on the sunny Sunday 12th February. The carpets of snowdrops were the stars of the day, admirably supported by crocuses, camelias, more than a few peacocks, and even some rhododendrons, all in the perfect setting of magnificent Pencarrow House.

The event gave us a great opportunity to meet people and explain what we do as a charity in supporting children and adults harmed by abuse, violence and other emotional trauma. Some of the most impactful contacts were the unspoken ones with a quick glance and taking of a leaflet – without doubt people will be in contact over the coming weeks.

We had a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for CLEAR, in addition to the entry donations, with the sale of crafts, pre-loved clothes, a tombola, teas, coffees and home-made cakes – all complementing the fund raising by the Friends of Pencarrow.

All of the money raised for CLEAR will go towards delivering our charitable services. You can see our full range of work here on our website – www.clearsupport.net

A huge thank-you to Lady Molesworth and the whole team at Pencarrow. To the CLEAR team, who all had a fantastic experience, and of course everyone who came along to see the glorious snowdrops and in doing so, donated to CLEAR.

We are one of the chosen charities taking part in Snowdrop Weekend at Pencarrow - please do join us this Sunday (12th February) between 10am and 4pm. Every donation that we receive will help us support more children and adults affected sexual abuse and other emotional trauma.

CLEAR is partnering with Trauma Informed Schools UK  to deliver a practical skills based training course designed to inform and empower school staff to respond effectively to vulnerable children and those who have suffered a trauma or have a mental health issue. This is in recognition that schools are an important front line service in relation to mental health of children

Without such interventions, painful life experiences are likely to present in challenging behaviour or result in barriers to learning

Carolyn Webster, CLEAR CEO, said: “This exciting joint venture with Trauma Informed Schools UK is a great fit with our existing offer to schools which already includes courses aimed at students in ‘peer support’ and ‘positive relationships and emotional wellbeing’ as it is aimed at boosting the skill base of staff in enhancing the mental health skill base of the school as a whole.”

The Diploma provides delegates with key insights into the psychology and neuroscience of mental ill-health and challenging behaviour alongside vital tools and techniques in knowing how to respond to a child’s narrative of painful life events.

So if you want to change troubled children's lives, reduce exclusions, improve pupil attendance and staff retention, while positively impacting on the mental health of the school culture as a whole, then this certificated training is a must!
