Understanding Trauma - Trauma isn’t just about what happened—it’s about how it was experienced.
Our Understanding Trauma training offers a powerful exploration into the emotional and physiological impact of trauma, helping individuals and organisations become more compassionate, informed, and resilient.
In this session, we’ll unpack what trauma really is, how it affects us, and why its effects can surface immediately or years later. You’ll learn to recognise trauma responses, understand the nervous system’s role, and explore the ripple effects—personally, professionally, and through vicarious experiences and compassion fatigue.
We’ll also dive into stress, overwhelm, and burnout, and discuss how adopting a trauma-informed approach can transform workplaces. A trauma-informed workplace fosters safety, respect, collaboration, transparency, minimising re-traumatisation and supporting wellbeing, resilience, attendance and engagement.
