CLEAR, the Cornish charity that is supporting people of all ages and genders harmed by abuse and other emotional trauma, is breathing new life into 8 Cathedral Lane in Truro.

The exciting new use of 8 Cathedral Lane includes facilities for training and counselling, together with a charity shop selling preloved items and handcrafts and a space for community and creative workshops supporting positive mental health and wellbeing. A menu of activities will be scheduled across separate days of the week. The high street premises at 8 Cathedral Lane, close to the Cathedral, have previously been an art gallery and a comic shop.

Sue Brown, CLEAR Chair of Trustees said:
“This is an exciting step for CLEAR. We already have a range of community events and training booked in.
We welcome everyone to join us for the official opening of 8 Cathedral Lane on 7th October at 11am”

Carolyn Webster, CLEAR CEO said:
“We cannot wait to bring CLEAR onto the high street! As well as generating much needed charitable income, number 8 brings opportunities for CLEAR raise awareness about the impact of abuse and emotional trauma and provides volunteering opportunities for people who want to stay connected to the charity.

We will also be doing our bit for the planet through a focus on re-use and re-purposed items. We welcome donations of clothes and curios and crafty items such as wool, buttons, ribbon and more! All surplus made from activities at 8 Cathedral Lane will be reinvested into our therapy and counselling services. It’s a win-win-win situation”
