CLEAR was chosen as one of the lucky charities for the 2023 Tregony Sports and Social Club’s annual Charity Ale Festival. This great event ran from 28th to 30th April and rightly involved a fine selection of real ale and cider, together with food and music, an awesome selection of charity auctions, raffles, shavings and waxings and an epic pub quiz. The result was a £2000 donation to CLEAR to take forward our charitable objectives of reducing the harm caused by trauma and abuse.

Carolyn Webster, CLEAR CEO said:  “A resounding ‘cheers’ to Tregony Sports and Social Club for choosing CLEAR! All the funds raised will help us make a real difference in supporting children and adults impacted by abuse and other emotional trauma across Cornwall.

If anybody else would like to follow the great example of Tregony Sports and Social Club and adopt CLEAR as their charity of the year or have their own CLEAR day, no matter how big or small do get in touch with us – everything from volunteering to fund raising helps us support more people across Cornwall.”

The Scent Store in Truro held a Charity Tester Sale on May 24th – giving everyone the great opportunity to stock up at amazing prices and even better, to buy presents for friends and family in advance! Certainly the CLEAR offices have never smelt so good! And best of all, the proceeds from the purchases went towards supporting CLEAR – an amazing total of £2062!

Rachel Jones, CLEAR Business Development Manager said:

“Thank you to everyone at the Scent Store in Truro for this fabulous event. All the funds raised will help us support more children and adults across Cornwall.

If anybody else would like to follow the great example of The Scent Store and have their own CLEAR day, no matter how big or small do get in touch with us – everything from volunteering to fund raising helps us support more people across Cornwall.”

CLEAR is a partner in People in Mind - an innovative multiagency collaboration, which runs for five years, to support people across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly with their mental health. It is for people aged 16 and over, and takes a trauma-informed, whole-family approach to supporting good mental health and preventing mental health crisis.

People can access a range of support for the things that are affecting mental health and emotional wellbeing, from finance and debt advice to self-harm counselling and help to overcoming loneliness.

Carolyn Webster, CLEAR CEO and Chair of Cornwall Mental Health Alliance said: “This is an important step in making sure that people can access mental health support before they reach a crisis point. The breadth of support available across the partnership will help to ensure that people can get the help they need at the right time.”

The partnership is being led by Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum (VSF) and includes Pentreath, Citizens Advice Cornwall, Age UK Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Cornwall Mind, Young People Cornwall, Chaos Group, CLEAR and Volunteer Cornwall. People in Mind is funded by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly NHS Integrated Care System.

Dr Richard Sharpe, consultant in Public Health at Cornwall Council, said: “This is great news and builds on the collaborative approaches to mental health and suicide prevention services that we, NHS ICB and our partners across Cornwall’s health and care system have developed, tested and embraced over the last five years and especially throughout the pandemic and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Only by working together to pool resources, experience and knowledge can we hope to create a safety net strong and wide enough to catch the increasing numbers of people who need support across our local communities.”

Kate Shields, Chief Executive of the NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care System, said: “We’re delighted to be funding this collaboration with Cornwall’s voluntary sector, which will offer personalised support to local people with £1 million for the next five years. “We want anyone dealing with mental ill-health to know that they’re not alone, and that getting support, just like you would for a physical illness, is vital.”

CLEAR are looking for sponsorship for their 2023 annual CLEAR day and encouraging everyone to take part in their ongoing #onaCLEARday fundraising campaign.

On the lead up to Mental Health Month 2023, CLEAR are looking for a local business to sponsor CLEAR’s big 2023 ‘CLEAR DAY’ – 1st June 2023!

If you would like to partner with our charity in sponsoring our CLEAR DAY, please email, or would like more information and support to hold your own #onaCLEARday - it can as easy as hosting a coffee morning, creating a themed day or hosting an after-work quiz - contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. On average we support 800 people a year, however, every working day we receive enquiries and referrals from people across Cornwall who need our help. Unfortunately, there are more people in need of our assistance than we have resources to support.

Together we can make a greater difference…

Thank you!

Great to discuss all things #CLEARforBusiness at Expowest Cornwall at the Royal Cornwall Showground on 8th and 9th March.

Lots of interest from a range of businesses – as one Tourist Attraction in the County put it “Oh we could so have done with your support last year when we had an incident – please do come and talk to us”

CLEAR for Business helps organisations to increase employee wellbeing, attendance and engagement, supporting increased productivity and staff retention.

CLEAR for Business is a Workforce Offer with an important difference. By investing in your workforce through CLEAR you will also be helping many other people in the county that we are proud to call home. Every penny of surplus will be reinvested into our charitable work providing therapy and counselling for children and adults across Cornwall who have been harmed by abuse, violent crime and other traumatic events
