Exciting Job Opportunity
Our Venue and Volunteer Coordinator is a new and exciting opportunity within the team at CLEAR. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic person to help to maximise the potential of 8 Cathedral Lane, to become sustainable and make both a financial and social contribution to the vision, mission and core services of the charity.
First and foremost, you will enjoy working with the public and be able to engage effectively with a wide range of people from all walks of life. You will share our passion for sustainability, our commitment to helping children and adults to flourish after trauma, and our ambition for 8 Cathedral to become a thriving example of high street diversification in Truro for the benefit of people, place and planet.
The role of venue and volunteer coordinator will enable us to be operational for 6 days a week, to recruit and support more volunteers, to increase footfall and sales and to expand our offer to the community.

We are fortunate to have opened a new premises at 8 Cathedral Lane which is a flexible retail, training and community space in the heart of Truro. We opened on 7 October 2023 and since then has opened for 3 days a week selling donated preloved items and donated hand-crafts. CLEAR’s central base is situated in the same building, on the third floor.
The drivers for taking on additional premises on the ground floor were:
- More accessible access for counselling
- A space to deliver training and workshops
- An opportunity to develop an additional income stream that over time could make a positive financial contribution to the charity, with surplus reinvested into providing therapy and counselling for survivors of abuse and other traumatic crime that is free at the point of access.
- A vehicle to provide volunteering opportunities
- An opportunity to promote CLEAR, to raise awareness of issues of abuse and violence and an understanding of trauma and its impact.
The post is funded through the Community Levelling Up fund until 31/12/24, and by CLEAR until 31/3/25. Continuation beyond March 2025 will be subject to sufficient ongoing income generation.
