The new coronavirus Covid 19 is an un-paralleled public health challenge for the delivery of our services. It is expected to affect many people in the coming weeks and CLEAR wants to make sure that all our clients, counsellors, and therapists are protected as much as possible.

We are doing all we can to ensure we can continue to provide much-needed services. We will do our utmost to continue to deliver counselling and therapy for our clients. This will be subject to individual circumstances with regards to health and self-isolation. Where face to face meetings are not possible, we will work with clients to agree the most appropriate next steps, this includes the potential for telephone and online counselling for adults. Next steps for children whose therapy maybe interrupted will agreed in consultation with therapist, child and parents/carers.

For clients accessing our counselling and therapy rooms in Truro, we have instigated additional hygiene measures. Hand sanitiser is available in our waiting area and room surfaces will be wiped down between each session. We are asking all staff and clients to wash their hands before and after each session.

This approach will be subject to the ongoing recommendations, advice and requirements of professional organisations such as the BACP and funders such as the MoJ. We will continue to monitor current Government guidance and keep our delivery under review.

In addition Volunteer Cornwall have set up a scheme for people who are isolated and need support with getting supplies like milk, bread and medication. The scheme is called Flu Friends and if you would like to know more please contact Volunteer Cornwall directly on 01872 265307.
