Cornwall based Charity CLEAR has launched an exciting new fundraising campaign called #OnaCLEARday. CLEAR supports children, young people and adults across Cornwall to heal from emotional trauma, in particular trauma that is linked to domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Carolyn Webster, Chief Executive of CLEAR explains: “Every working day we receive enquiries and referrals from people across Cornwall who need our help. Unfortunately, there are more people in need of our assistance than we have resources to support. So, we are asking as many businesses, schools, organisations and individuals as possible to have a ‘CLEAR Day’ – an event or activity that raises funds for CLEAR.

It could be anything from a sponsored run or welly-throwing contest to a bake sale or wear a hat to work day! We will be asking ‘What does your CLEAR day look’ like and supporting events through fundraising packs, promotions and more. On the 1st June each year we will have our own CLEAR Day where we will celebrate all the things that people have done to support our campaign”

#OnaCLEARday is off to a great start with supporter Matt Frith running a Marathon on 17th May. Matt has so far raised over £1,200 on his Just Giving Page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/matt-frith The Working Boat pub in Falmouth are donating the funds raised at their February Quiz Nights and CEO Carolyn is raising funds throughout the year through donations for her hand-made cards, with Valentine’s Day bringing in £60.

Fundraiser Angus MacDonald said: “Every penny makes a difference, and our #OnaCLEARday campaign is designed to encourage as many people as possible to do whatever they can. We are happy to support events big and small, just get in touch!”
