Get Set for Christmas
CLEAR, the Cornish charity that supports people to flourish after trauma, is holding a Get Set for Christmas event on Saturday 9th November from 10-30am to 4-30pm in their charity shop at 8 Cathedral Lane in Truro.
Get Set for Christmas event will include the first reveal of bespoke handmade Christmas gifts and decorations alongside a wide selection of preloved clothes, homeware and donated crafts. There will also be a visit from the Maids of Melody choir to sing in the coming season.
Carolyn Webster, CLEAR CEO, said: “8 Cathedral Lane is all about people, place and planet. It’s a beautiful space to shop, connect and learn, offering planet-friendly preloved items and creative goods with a focus on reuse and repurpose. All this activity raises much needed funds for our charity so we can help more people to flourish after trauma.
Pop in and say hello on Saturday morning and Get Set for Christmas!”
Sue Brown, Chair of Trustees, said “Thank you to everyone who has made 8 Cathedral Lane such a success – everyone who has found a treasure to buy and of course everyone who has donated – you are all helping us make a real difference.
Cathedral Lane will help us to become less reliant on grants to support the ever-increasing demand for therapy and counselling. All surplus income from 8 Cathedral Lane is being reinvested directly into our therapy and counselling services."
CLEAR helps around 800 children, young people and adults each year to heal from harm caused by abuse and emotional trauma. It is the only all age, all gender therapy service in Cornwall and the only organisation in the county to be accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
CLEAR also delivers the Invictus CLEAR Counselling service supporting 11-21 year- old’s experiencing poor mental health and the Hope for Harm service, supporting adults who self-harm.
The development of 8 Cathedral Lane is being supported through £37,120 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
